Title: Is there a length restriction on the articles?
Post by: Scratch Projects on March 15, 2006, 09:44:08 PM
Nope, no length limit, but longer articles will be split into parts for easier reading. Also, we realize that some projects will take a long time to complete, and there may be future versioning, patches, etc. You do not have to wait for the whole project to be done to submit an article. I think the readers would enjoy articles that were realeased as a series.

However, is there a suggested lenght? Or a minimum lenght?
Thank you!

The length of the article is really going to depend on the complexity of your code. However if it's going to fit onto one page then your code probably doesn't do much, or you didn't explain it enough. Anything that would span longer than 8 pages on our site will probable be split up into multiple parts.

If you want to tell us about the new MMORPG you're creating, and each month you send us a 20 page article, that would be awesome. If you write a tiny, but useful, app and it ends up being only 1 or 2 pages, that's cool too. Sorry, I can't be more specific, but if you're still concerned about the length of your article send us an email with the details and we'll try to help in any way we can.
